We are keen to reinforce an important update regarding our waste management policy with our new recycling legislation called ‘Simpler Recycling’, which has been introduced on site in line with the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra), which came into effect on March 31st, 2025. This initiative aims to standardise and simplify recycling across England, ensuring that everyone can recycle the same materials.
Simpler Recycling On Site

We strongly recommend that all on-site tenants purchase a food caddy for their individual units. This will help ensure that only food waste is disposed of in the food waste bins, without being contaminated by any packaging.

Additionally, please be aware that it is a mandatory requirement for all glass, plastic, and metal recycling to be cleaned and rinsed before being placed in the recycling bins.

Full cooperation is required from all to ensure that we meet the required standards to avoid unnecessary fines which ultimately will result in higher rents for all.

What is Simpler Recycling?

The new ‘Simpler Recycling’ policy means:

  • Standardising and simplifying what is collected for recycling.
  • Removing recyclable material from general waste to increase recycling.
  • Reducing contamination in recycling bins.

How Does This Affect Your Business?

If you currently dispose of any of the following recyclable materials in general waste, you will need to separate them and place them in the correct bins provided in the Waste Disposal Area, which will contain:

  • Food waste
  • Glass (must be rinsed clean)
  • Cardboard/Paper
  • Plastic (must be rinsed clean)
  • Metal (must be rinsed clean)

Important Note: Do not dispose of batteries, electrical equipment, or hazardous waste in general waste. Contact the office with any questions by email or on +44 (0) 1920 870015.

New Bins and Signage

We’ve installed new bins in our updated recycling area to help you comply with the new legislation.

Contact us with any questions

Please do not hesitate to contact the office if you have any questions regarding these changes. Thank you for your commitment to the successful implementation of a Simpler Recycling system.
