French & Jupps Maltings, Britain’s oldest maltster established in 1689, has appointed Annabelle Degroot as its new Managing Director, effective Wednesday, 3 December 2025.
French & Jupps commemorates maltings heritage with the Brewing History Society, showcasing the finest handcrafted roasted malts which honour a 336 year legacy.
Arkell’s Brewery and French & Jupps are proud to announce the launch of Ancestry (ABV 3.8%), a brand-new cask ale brewed in collaboration between one of Britain’s oldest family brewers and Great Britain’s oldest maltster.
For generations, French & Jupps roasted malt travelled the Thames and London’s canals and waterways to reach the city’s brewers. It’s where the ‘French’ in French & Jupps originates from, our partnership with barge owner Margaret French back in the 1860s.
