Fuller's London Pride

London Pride, Fuller’s flagship beer, is a true classic British Amber Ale. It has been brewed in the heart of London at the historic Griffin Brewery in Chiswick since 1958, just a stone’s throw from where we at French & Jupps established our malting operations in 1810 at Kew Bridge.

The beer proudly takes its name from the resilient “London Pride” flower (Saxifraga × urbium), which famously flourished in the bombed-out sites of London after World War II, symbolising the city’s spirit of recovery and perseverance.

Just as the London Pride flower embodies the resilient spirit of the city, so too does the enduring partnership between Fuller’s and French & Jupps Maltings. French & Jupps roasted malt has been a foundational element in Fuller’s brewing process for nearly a century, long before the iconic London Pride beer became a beloved staple in the capital’s pubs.

The earliest records date back to 1870 with French & Jupps having been a trusted supplier of roasted malts to Fuller’s London for 155 years. Today, we’re incredibly proud to share Guy Stewart, Head Brewer at Fuller’s, has provided the recipe behind this iconic London beer, revealing the secret to where its prized amber colour lies, in part, with French & Jupps chocolate malt.
