During the Great War, Women made up a large percentage of the workforce filing the vacant jobs left by men who’d left to fight in the war. Women had been working before 1914, but mostly in the textile industry. This museum piece is from the ministry of defence in 1917, and introduces newer more flexible regulations to allow women to do even more than they already were!
